Lavender and Laughter

Life is too short to drink tea out of a plastic cup....I created this blog to pour the lavender and laughter of my life into yours.

I am complicated and I am a Marshwiggle (like Puddleglum from Lewis' The Silver Chair). Personality tests don't work on me. I yearn to see Jesus face to face, and to see the love in His eyes. I am learning to walk on water and to be a new person in Christ. I am in love with my husband and baby, and I love the smell of coffee and lavender mixed together.

Angels in Action

Sunday morning. The worship music is in full swing. It's a new song that Luke wrote--and it's praising God. Most of the time I struggle to focus during the music. But, today I'm thinking of God's glory--of the entire world praising Him. I'm praying, "Lord, I want this song to glorify you with mighty power."

I hear a joyful, audible clapping as of hundreds--and it makes my heart swell. Looking around, I see only others like me...just quietly singing. NO ONE IS CLAPPING. I look again to make sure. Nothing. If only I could hear it again, it was so beautiful.

It was angels. I'm sure. God opened my ears for just two seconds to the spiritual world in our own little gym. And in those two seconds I was shown a glimpse of the glory God was receiving. It really was so beautiful.

I asked Luke, after church, if there was any clapping or any technical noises during the song....just to make sure that I wasn't totally misinterpreting the experience. I'm usually the cynic when it comes to visions or "spiritual experiences". He said there wasn't.

This isn't something that I believe will encourage any of my readers. In fact, I struggle a little bit with sharing it. But it is something that has filled me with a sense of wonder and joy as I remember that the spiritual world is a bigger reality than the physical, and that God will recieve the glory, whether we give it to Him or not.

And I just wanted to share my joy. Let's slow down a bit and remember Truth.

Worthy is the Lamb
That was slain for us all
Holy is the Lamb
That was slain for us all
We sing glory, hallelujah
He reigns

I don't see how that could HELP but encourage your readers. I am very pleased for you and your church that you had such a wonderful worship experience. As a songwriter and worship leader myself it would be so gratifying to know that we had connected! God bless you and your church and your husband. I pray that he writes MANY more songs that touch the Father's heart.
