Lavender and Laughter

Life is too short to drink tea out of a plastic cup....I created this blog to pour the lavender and laughter of my life into yours.

I am complicated and I am a Marshwiggle (like Puddleglum from Lewis' The Silver Chair). Personality tests don't work on me. I yearn to see Jesus face to face, and to see the love in His eyes. I am learning to walk on water and to be a new person in Christ. I am in love with my husband and baby, and I love the smell of coffee and lavender mixed together.

Frightfully Stormy

I seem to have trouble keeping up on my blog...but it's storming outside and if I don't do a little blogging...I will be asleep in 5 minutes. I'm tired. Luke and I have been pouring our energy into VBS this week-and I must say, being pregnant, I don't have much energy to pour! I can't believe how big my tummy is and neither can anyone else...every day someone tells me that I look REALLY pregnant...like 8 months instead of 6. So now I really wonder what I'll look like at 8 months! This week has begun the phase of aching hips (an indication that they are spreading...which is a good thing, but painful). Oh, and have I mentioned that I'm like 20 degrees warmer than everyone else? Okay, that may be a bit of exageration...but seriously, I'm so hot all the time that I am starting to think constantly about air conditioning in my new house!

The house is coming along. We are hoping to move in 6 weeks. I'm so excited...and a little burned out thinking about it. We finalized our exterior colors, and inside, all the woodwork is being done (trim, stairs, cabinets, etc). My mother-in-law and I finally picked out some sweet baby bedding from Pottery Barn...and I wish I could set it up and see how it looks! It has elephants on it...not what I would have predicted...but very cute. And I got a beautiful rod-iron crib...that was definitely predictable!

I have this friend, Sharran, who I get together with to drink tea and talk about life and literature every once in a while. She always sends me home with such fun things...and yesterday she gave me a couple sarongs. She showed me how to wear them so that they can't come off and also can't get thrown open...and they really make very cute skirts for casual summer days. I think everyone should wear them...they're quite flattering actually (I always did like long skirts on girls).

I guess that's kindof it right now. I'm trying to find ways to meet the needs of other women...and not just get caught up in plans for house and baby. Yesterday, after almost 3 years, I finally worked up the courage to go downstairs and invite the neighbor to come have tea or coffee with me some time. She said she doesn't drink either......uh.....hmmm...I just thought everyone would drink one or the other. So I feel a little stupid for inviting her up for water. LOL. Come on, God, I could use a little help here!
