I haven't painted since I got pregnant...but I'm at it again!

Last Look at Tummy

This is the last picture I am taking of my tummy. I know, I haven't exactly kept you updated on it...but...for some reason this pregnancy has just flown by. I'm due in exactly 3 weeks...and seriously this baby grows fast! I mean seriously. I'd be perfectly satisfied if he would just come today. Or even tomorrow. But, alas, I can't make him. I want to know what color his eyes are...and his hair. I'm not sure I want to know how big he is :P

So I have my cloth diapers all ordered, and plenty of little clothes for the first few months (my sister made me this wonderful baby laundry detergent and I've already washed and hung up all his clothes and blankets!). There are only a few things left that I need, and I would be fine without them if I had to be. So who wants to guess how soon a baby picture will appear on this blog? Please do not guess anything beyond 5 weeks...because if he hasn't come by them, I will be drinking caster oil.

A Day of Little Things

For some reason, today seems like a nice day, even though I did get lost in southern Des Moines for quite a while (and Luke's phone was off...figures) after an appointment with my midwife! I picked up several mouse paintings I had framed (including the above). And since I had to pick up toilet paper at the store, I figured, why not make it worth while? So I got a lemon and a lime, too! The pears in the bowl are my little expression of excitement over the coming of fall...I always get anxious to decorate every time I feel a new season coming. Of course, they won't last because we love to eat pears!

My next door neighbors just brought me this beautiful apple pie (with apples from their mom's own trees) to introduce themselves. I just love it! Oh boy this baby is going to be big :(

Laundry Detergent Creativity

I've really enjoyed learning how to make my own laundry detergent...it saves so much money and is good on clothes. In this very materialistic and wealthy lifestyle, I find it incredibly satisfying to do what I can to save in the small areas. It's sortof like learning to cook good food instead of eating at restaurants...it just feels better. I thought this could even be a cute gift idea (assuming the person on the receiving end appreciates home-made...)

"Showers" of baby stuff...

Last week the ladies at church had a baby shower for me and I'm sooo excited about my little guy! I can't believe I'm already 9 months pregnant. I'm definitely feeling it, and even the stairs are starting to seem intimidating. But, the end is so worth all this :)
