A Picture in Poetry (by me!)
Winter white
adorned with diamond
and fur
and the snow bird leaving
scratchings outside window;
Evergreens make a fantasy
where deer dream
and birches sigh
boots crunch
breath dances a waltz.
But the heart...
it longs for another world
colors drip in dew
emerald shines through fog
opera of robins
as sleep is shed
and the soul is warmed
by a longer sun.
